10th Gen Honda Civic Launched In India; Prices Start At ₹ 17.70 Lakh

Honda ‘Civic’ nameplate returns to India after 7 years.

 

Honda Cars India has launched the 10th generation Civic sedan in the country. The ‘Civic’ nameplate returns to India after a gap of 7 years. The new model is available in both petrol and diesel variants with ex-showroom prices starting at ₹ 17.70 lakh.

Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC petrol

V CVT – ₹ 17.70 lakh

VX CVT – ₹ 19.20 lakh

ZX CVT – ₹ 21 lakh

V MT – ₹ 24.50 lakh

ZX MT – ₹ 22.30 lakh

 

Powering the Honda Civic are two engine options – a 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol producing 139bhp/174Nm and a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine producing 118bhp/300Nm. The petrol is coupled to a CVT box while the diesel gets a 6-speed manual. The ARAI rated mileage figures for the petrol and diesel are 16.5 km/l and 26.8 km/l respectively.

 

The new Honda Civic measures 4656mm in length, 1799mm in width, 1433mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2700mm. The boot space is 430-litres. The suspension unit at the front is of the MacPherson type while at the rear Honda has fitted the Civic with multi-link unit mounted on a rigid sub-frame.

 

Features available on the Honda Civic include LED headlamps, fog lamps and tail-lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, electric sunroof, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-tone interiors with ivory leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way electric driver’s seat, electric parking brake with auto brake hold, push button start/stop, tilt and telescopic steering, rear AC vents, etc. The Honda Civic is available in five colour options – Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic.

 

Safety features in the Honda Civic include 6-airbags, hill start assist, ABS+EBD+BA, Honda Lanewatch camera based blind spot detection system, vehicle stability assist, Pedestrian Safety, etc.

 

The 10th gen Honda Civic is available with a 3-year/unlimited kms warranty as standard which can be extended for an additional 2-years/unlimited kms. The service interval is 1-year/10,000 kms and there is a 3-year annual maintenance package with an average cost of ₹ 4,953 for petrol and ₹ 5,930 for diesel per year.
