Jaguar India To Launch The All Electric I-Pace In 2020

Jaguar Land Rover India to also launch hybrid vehicles from Land Rover product portfolio towards the end of 2019.

Jaguar Land Rover India has announced that it will launch its electrified product portfolio towards the end of 2019. This is in line with JLR’s global commitment to introduce electrified options on its entire product portfolio by 2020. The electrified range will include hybrid vehicles as well as battery electric vehicles (BEV).

The first hybrid vehicle launch which will happen before the end of 2019 will be from Land Rover. It will most probably with the all-new Range Rover Evoque which was introduced earlier this year. All AWD models of the Evoque get a 48V mild-hybrid system which captures energy lost during deceleration and stores it in an underflow battery pack. The energy is deployed to assist the engine when the accelerator pedal is pushed.

Jaguar Land Rover will also launch the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace in the second half of 2020.  The I-Pace uses two electric motors (one on each axle) for an AWD system. Each motor produces 197bhp and 350Nm for a combined total of 394bhp and 700Nm which helps the car sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h. The I-Pace has a 90kWh battery which can be charged to 80% in 1hr and 25mins using a 50kW DC charger. The car is capable of travelling up to 467km on a single charge (100%).
