Mahindra XUV300 Launch Scheduled For 14 February

XUV300 will be available with a 1.5-litre diesel or 1.2-litre petrol.

Mahindra has confirmed that the XUV300 compact SUV will be launched on 14 February, 2019. Pre-bookings for the model began earlier this month. The XUV300 will be available in four variants powered by either a 1.5-litre diesel or a 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Mahindra said that the XUV300 “will compete with SUVs in the ₹ 8-12 Lakh (ex-showroom) price range”. It will be available in three standard variants – W4, W6 and W8 and one optional variant W8 (O). Standard across the range will be features like all-wheel disc brakes, all 4 power windows, LED tail-lamps and dual-front driver and passenger airbags. The W8 (O) will get additional technology and safety features like electric sunroof and 7-airbags.

The other features which will be available (depending on variant) include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone fully automatic climate control, large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, front parking sensors, etc.

Powering the XUV300 will be a 4-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Marazzo with 300Nm of torque and a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 200Nm of torque. Both engines will be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission at launch.

Mahindra says that the XUV300 will exceed the upcoming Indian crash safety tests. Its Marazzo recently scored 4-stars in the Global NCAP crash test. The Maruti Brezza (4-star) and Tata Nexon (5-star) are the top rated sub-compact SUVs currently in the Indian market.

The Mahindra XUV300 will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Nashik and will compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Ford EcoSport.
