Toyota India launches the Etios Cross

Toyota India has launched the Etios Cross. The vehicle was first unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Etios Cross was first launched in Brazil last year.

The Etios Cross is based on the Etios Liva hatchback and features identical ground clearance. To give it a rugged look, the Etios Cross gets black body cladding, new grille, new black bumpers, silver roof rails, roof spoiler, fog lamps with integrated turn indicators, wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators. The Etios Cross sits on 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels shod with 185/65 R15 rubber.

The interior of the Etios Cross is now finished in Piano black. The car is fitted with new sport seat fabric and white stitching. The Etios Cross logo is embossed on the seats. There is a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, Aux-in and USB input. The leather wrapped steering wheel has been fitted with audio controls.

Other features available on the car are driver seat height adjust, rear window defogger with wiper, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution), driver and passenger airbags, underbody coating and anti-chip paint coating.

There are no mechanical changes to the car to differentiate it from the Liva hatchback. The car gets the option of three engines (two petrol and one diesel). There is a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 89bhp and 132Nm of torque, second engine is a 1.2-litre petrol unit producing 79bhp and 104Nm of torque and the third engine is a 1.4-litre diesel unit producing 67bhp and 170Nm of torque. All engines transmit power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Etios Cross will be available in seven colours – Ultramarine Blue, Classic Grey, Symphony Silver, Celestial Black, White, Vermilion Red and Harmony Beige.
